Sight and Hearing Programs
Offered by the Gig Harbor Lions Club
Sight Programs EYE EXAMS AND EYEGLASSES. The Gig Harbor Lions Club in partnership with the Peninsula School District and a local optometrist can provide basic vision services for Gig Harbor students having no medical assistance. An eye exam and glasses (if needed) can be provided to qualified individuals on a case-by-case basis. Students in need of help will be recommended through the school district only. Our vision assistance extends to Gig Harbor adults as well, with some limitations. This is our signature community service sight program. We offer an annual half-day seminar on day-to-day living with low vision and provide monthly support group meetings for individuals and care-givers facing the daily challenges of living with low vision.
