The Gig Harbor Lions Club was chartered on October 23,1931 as a spinoff of the Bremerton Central Lions Club.
Reuben H. Berkheimer was the first president or "King Lion".

Through the years the club has sponsored three new clubs:
the Peninsula Lions,
the Key Peninsula Lions, and
the Tacoma Community College Campus Club.

We have produced three (3) District Governors; two (2) Vice District Governors and seven (7) Zone Chairman.
The Gig Harbor Lions Club also has 24 Melvin Jones Fellows.
