Teamwork

Our Gig Harbor Lions Club consists of family members and friends who have joined for individual reasons. We bring our desire to help others, our passion for specific areas of service, our skills and gifts. As a Gig Harbor Lion you became an integral member of a team.

Teamwork is more than just membership. It is working together to meet the purpose and goals of Lionism.

Teamwork is only successful when all the players actively participate and lend a hand in all aspects of the clubs activities. A few examples: White Cane Days, the food bank or back pack program, the Relay for Life or MS projects, attending monthly meetings as well as the social functions of the club.

Working together as a team helps us to accomplish great things for the Community. Lion's teamwork can also extend to actively participating in District projects like the tree planting effort to meet the challenge of our International President or attend another club's function to provide support.

As we go forward this year I would ask you to identify how each of you can contribute to the team. You might choose one project in which to participate.

You can encourage a member to think about stepping forward and seek training for a leadership role. Sometimes all that is required is a little encouragement.

Plan to attend one of the social functions, or attend the noon
Board/Business meeting once a month.

Teamwork stimulates and encourages members to get exited about their service and encourages them to invite others to join our Lion's Club Team. New members can suggest new projects, and bring a fresh perspective to Gig Harbor Lions as to other needs in the Community.

I believe that each individual can make a difference and does so, but, I strongly believe that as a Club we can impact our Community even more when we take a total team approach.

We welcome old and new members alike to join us in our New Beginnings.
Renew your commitment to the club that has been successfully serving our community since 1931.

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 200 countries. Lions club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide.

Beginning in 1917, the association of the Lions has provided millions of people with the opportunity to give something back to their communities.

Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast variety of projects. Their volunteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care, to addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide.

We’ll continue to build our program Live Successfully with Low Vision, participate in White Cane days, staff the mobile Lions Health Screening Van, provide scholarships and senior project mentoring to our local high schools, provide youth camp opportunities for kids with diabetes, produce our wonderful Photo Tribute to Gig Harbor calendar and continue the fun of sponsoring a Little League team.  While doing all this, we bring a unique brand of humor, fun and fellowship to our meetings, projects and services to the community.

Won’t you join us? We meet the second and fourth Monday at 7:30AM at the Madrona Links Golf Course restaurant.  There you will meet people like yourself, dedicated to improving the lives of others and making our community a better place for all of us.
