Gig Harbor Lions Club

Since 1931, the Gig Harbor Lions Club has served with pride in our community.

We sincerely hope you will join us
and lend your time and talent to improving the lives of others both inside and outside our community.

Van Manning Van Manning, Gig Harbor Lions Club President

Thank you to all who were able to attend our installation dinner. We missed those who were unable to attend.

It was a enjoyable event. Bob Wagers once again did a great job as our master of cere-monies. Past District Governor Dan Comsia installed our new club officers who have now taken on the responsibility of leading our Lions Club in help-ing to serve the needs of our community. Bill McMonnies did a great job as our auctioneer. Lots of active bidding, resulting in our club making over $ 1000.00. A special thanks to Lions Bonnie Manning, Elaine Morales, and Sandy Bradley for planning this outstanding event.

The Gig Harbor Lions Club had an outstanding 2011-2012 year! A HUGE thanks to President Bonnie and Club officers for leading us to "SHOOT FOR THE MOON". Through their leadership and hard work by many club members we hit the moon and made tremendous strides in serving and helping people in need. Our club contributed approximately $20,000 to a multitude of projects. These projects included: Food for needy; MS Walk; Relay for Life; financial support for glasses and hearing aids; Prison Pets; three high school scholarships; Milt Boyd Performance Arts Award; White Canes; Diabetes, Camp Leo; Low Vision; Santa's Backpacks for Kids; Eddon Boats; Project New Hope; Friends of the Orphan; Parents for Peninsula Baseball; Mobile screening and several other miscellaneous projects. In addition, we collected food and monies each month to help the Food Backpacks for Kids Pro-gram. WOW! That's a lot of hard work, but the dividends were great. A HUGE SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL GIG HARBOR LIONS THAT MADE THESE CONTRIBUTIONS POSSIBLE!

Our goals for this coming year are simple in words but I believe to be very significant and important. We must continue to seek new opportunities to help serve our community in ways that will help people in need. We can not stand on past accomplishments, but move forward with continued enthusiasm, passion and drive to push the Lionism bar higher and higher throughout the 2012-2013 year. Change is always inevitable. You will be asked to accept, welcome, and participate in the changes and new endeavors that our club will be involved in this coming year. So, as a Gig Harbor Lion, GET INVOLVED AND BE AN ACTIVE PART OF THE SOLUTION IN MEETING THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY!

We welcome old and new members alike to join us in our New Beginnings.
Renew your commitment to the club that has been successfully
serving our community since 1931.

We’ll continue to build our program Live Successfully with Low Vision, participate in White Cane days, staff the mobile Lions Health Screening Van, provide scholarships and senior project mentoring to our local high schools, provide youth camp opportunities for kids with diabetes, produce our wonderful Photo Tribute to Gig Harbor calendar and continue the fun of sponsoring a Little League team.  While doing all this, we bring a unique brand of humor, fun and fellowship to our meetings, projects and services to the community.

Won’t you join us? We meet the second and fourth Monday at 7:30AM at Harbor Place at Cottesmore.  There you will meet people like yourself, dedicated to improving the lives of others and making our community a better place for all of us.
